Privacy policy

Gorbasoft makes free Windows software in Glasgow, Scotland. This policy explains what information our apps, this website, our email and our Ko-fi page handle. The short version: our apps don't collect anything about you, and we don't track you.

Space Explorer

  • No data collection. Space Explorer does not collect, send or sell any personal information. It has no telemetry, no analytics, no adverts and no account.
  • Everything stays on your PC. Your settings, saved scans, reports and media catalogue are kept in the app's own folder on your computer (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Gorbasoft\SpaceExplorer). We never see them.
  • Services you add. If you add a NAS, network share, Docker server, Portainer, Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Tautulli or a download client, the app talks directly to that service at the address you give it. The addresses you enter are stored on your PC, and passwords, tokens and keys are kept in Windows Credential Manager. They are only ever sent to the service they belong to.
  • Links. A few buttons open web pages in your browser, such as our Ko-fi page or the FFmpeg download page. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
  • Removing it. Uninstall the app, and delete the folder above if you want to remove your saved scans and settings too.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Email

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you and to help with your question. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your details with anyone. Mail to our domains is delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing and Google.

Ko-fi

Donations and purchases on our Ko-fi page are handled by Ko-fi and their payment providers (Stripe and PayPal). We receive your name or display name, any message you leave and the amount, but never your card details. See Ko-fi's privacy policy.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

Our apps and website are not aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
